Technical instruction:

  • feet in front of the ball and pointing 90° away from the goal
  • the ball is behind your body
hands close together, with or without a short grip
  • bodyweight on the back foot
  • short, powerful hit
hit the ball behind, on it’s top

Technical instruction:

One of the players is dribbling the ball, the other tries to hit the ball by throwing cones at it. If the ‘thrower’ has no cones left, the player is allowed to score on goal.
A good exercise to do with a friend when you don’t have a training with your team.

Technical instruction:

Grip: the stick has to be ‘re-griped’. Turn the stick one quarter, the flat side of the stick is now pointing upward (frying-pan-grip, like you hold a frying-pan)
Bring your right hand next to your left. Both hands are on the top of your stick
When your preparing for the shot, your right-foot is in front of your left. Take a big step! The ball is between left and right foot, one stick-length in front of you
The position of the body is low, the left knee can (almost) touch the ground. Both feet stay on the ground for balance
Hit the ball with the side of the stick, not with the blade
The shot is a combined movement of the body, arms and wrists

Direction: Different direction can be given to the ball by turning the wrists (pronation/supination), or hitting the ball in front of the right foot (ball goes to the right) or left foot (ball goes to the left).

If we hit the ball in the centre, it will go straight en on the ground. To score in the top-corner (don’t we all want that!!) we must hit the ball under the centre (or heart). The stick goes from high to low.
