NBC BROADCAST SCHEDULE FOR HOCKEY
|
CHULA VISTA, CA (July 16, 2008) - All five USA Field Hockey pool matches and both medal matches will be televised by NBC during the network’s unprecedented 3,600 hours of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games coverage.
The USA Field Hockey Women’s Olympic Team opens competition in Beijing against 2007 Pan American Games champion Argentina on Sunday, August 10. The match will be broadcast live on MSNBC, paired with a simulcast on Universal HD.
The four remaining pool matches are scheduled for the USA network and USA HD. The U.S. will face Japan, Germany, New Zealand and Great Britain in pool play.
The bronze medal game for women’s field hockey on Friday, August 22 will be broadcast by MSNBC and Universal HD. The gold medal match will follow at 6:00 pm on Oxygen.
USA Field Hockey Men’s National Team Head Coach Nick Conway will provide commentary.
All Olympic field hockey contests, men and women, will be webcast on NBCOlympics.com. NBCOlympics.com will feature approximately 2,200 total hours of live streaming Olympic broadband video coverage, the first live online Olympic coverage in the United States. |

Saturday, Aug. 16, USA Network, United States women vs. New Zealand, taped coverage between 2 a.m. Eastern Time and 2 p.m. (game actually live 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time the night before

Monday, Aug. 18, USA Network, United States women vs. Great Britain, 6 a.m. Eastern Time DAY 10 LIVE
Friday, Aug. 22, MSNBC, women’s field hockey bronze-medal match, taped coverage between 5 a.m. Eastern Time and 5 p.m (game actually live at 6 a.m.)DAY 14
Friday, Aug. 22, Oxygen Network, women’s field hockey gold-medal match, taped coverage between 6-8 p.m Eastern and Pacific Time (game actually live at 8:30 a.m.) DAY 14

| The International Hockey Federation (FIH) expanded its cooperation with You Tube. From today, the FIH website www.worldhockey.org will feature the ‘You Tube Clip of the Week’. Each week, the FIH will choose one user-generated hockey video as the clip of the week to be featured on the FIH home page. |
